Foton, headquartered in Chang Ping district, Beijing, was founded on August 28, 1996. At present, it has 26.000 employees and enormous potential in research and development. It is a state-owned holding company listed in the Shanghai Stock Exchange with multi-types of ownership. Its business spans various regions and industrial sectors.

Foton's R&D technological center is located in Beijing and its overseas R&D branches are distributed in many countries and regions such as Japan. Germany and Taiwan. We have eight assembly plants and several component factories in eight cities and provinces, namely Beijing. Tianjin. Shandong, Liaoning, Hunan, Guangdong and Hubei, and several KD factories in Russia. Iran. Pakistan. Vietnam and other countries which have realized localized production.

The volume of production and sales increased from 26.000 per year to 410,000 per year. creating a new record of accumulatively producing and selling 2,620.000 vehicles within twelve years in the history of China's auto industry. Foton is now the No.1 commercial vehicle brand in China.
Now, Foton owns a wide range of commercial vehicles. including the complete truck series having a gross vehicle weight rating of no more than 35 tons. light-duty passenger vehicle. SUV, Pickup, large and medium bus series and multi-purpose vehicles. Foton has the most complete range of vehicle products and has become the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in China.

The total number of Foton's production and sales is expected to surpass 800.000 in 2010. 20% of which will be sold to overseas markets with the sales volume exceeding 80 billion yuan and Foton will become a world-class auto manufacturer.

In 1996, Foton was founded in Beijing.
In 1997, Foton celebrated its first anniversary abd the 100,000th vehicle rolled off the production line.
In 1998, Foton was listed in the Shanghai Stock Exchange, marking a hisstorical epoch.
In 1999, Foton became N°1, light-duty truck manufacturer in the volume of sales and was awarded the title of light-duty truck king of China.
In 2000, Foton obteined the certificate of international ISO9001 quality control system.

In 2001, Foton stablished her global Customer call center to provide 24-hour consulting service. In 2002, Foton built the largest heavy-duty truck production base in Asia, i.e. the Auman vehicle plant.
In 2003, Foton introduced brand identification system (BIS) and formally launched the brand operation strategy.
In 2004, Foton's one millionth vehicle rolled off the production line.
In 2005, Foton won the award of being N°1 commercial vehicle brand in China.
In 2006, Foton was set as an example of independent innovative enterprise.

In 2007, Foton Auman, AUV and Aumark motors, all driven by Cummins enginecame into the global market.
In 2008, Beijing Foton Cummins engine limited company was founded.
In 2008, Foton signed a letter of intent for global cooperation with Daimler in Beijing, China.

By the year 2010, the total number of Foton's production and sales will have surpassed 800,000 per year, 20% of which will be
sold to the overseas market.

Foton has accumulatively produced and sold 2,620,000 vehicles and 390,000 engines during the past 12 years.
Foton has accumulatively earned 134.5 billion yuan from sales during the past 12 years.
Foton has achieved an annual production capacity of 700,000 overall vehicles and 150,000 engines after 12 years'development.
